What is Green Cleaning and how can Green Cleaning impact my business? These are questions that more and more BSC’S are asking. It could be that you have already been asked if you provide green cleaning services, and impulsively said yes!
According to Executive Order 13101 the definition of Green Cleaning is:
“Cleaning to
protect health without harming the environment.
“Green” Cleaning is
more than just switching a traditional cleaning chemical with a naturally
derived alternative.
…products and
services that reduce the health and environmental impacts compared to
similar products and services used for the same purpose.”
How can Green Cleaning impact your business? It allows you to offer a service that few if any of your competitors are offering or are even considering. Green Cleaning programs create a healthier environment for your employees and building occupants. And because of the proper use of supplies and equipment you are able to impact the environment in a positive way.
Some have agreed that this is a great program to offer existing and potential prospects, but the cost of such a program would not be accepted by the customer. This may have been a true statement in the past, but is NOT true today. If you are now providing a quality cleaning program, chances are that there is no difference in the price. If the cleaning programs that you provide and not at a high quality level, then you have other problems to deal with.
In most cases I have found that one does not have to start from square one or reinvent the wheel. Adjustments in your cleaning program may be all that is needed, along with some changes to Green Sealed Products. Remember we are encouraging a transition that is well thought out and not an overnight change.
During this time when it seems hard to find new business, why not offer a program that is state of the art? The new technology being presented to us will enable you to offer you’re existing and potential customers the opportunity to provide a clean and healthier work environment for their fellow employees.
