White wool and Berber carpets can be some of the hardest carpets to clean. Berbers are blended from all carpet strands that are left over when they are milling carpets. Basically it's free material for the manufacturer and sold expensively to the consumer.
Berber or Olefin carpets as they are sometime called can pose problems for the carpet cleaner.
There are numerous ways to clean Berber but some of the newer cleaners like the peroxide or oxygen based chemicals work the best. Many carpet cleaning chemical manufacturers like Chemspec & Dynachem are making cleaners that work on Berber.
It is this author's opinion that those with a hydrogen peroxide base work the best.
I have combined a degreaser, with a peroxide and alcohol combination on Berber without harming it and with great results.
I pre-spray the carpet, heavily and give it 5 minutes to work before using my favorite method of Hot Water Extraction (HWE). Yes, I turn up the heat when doing Berber.
This system of cleaning Berber has proven to be the best for me.
